BROWNSBURG, IND. – Former Juncos Racing Pro Mazda drivers Conor Daly and Peter Dempsey gave an impressive run at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past weekend.

2010 Pro Mazda Championship driver Conor Daly made his first appearance in the IZOD IndyCar series, driving the #41 for A.J. Foyt Racing at the 97th Indianapolis 500. Rookie Daly finished 22nd after qualifying 31st in his first IZOD IndyCar race.

Irishman Peter Dempsey, current driver of the #5 Belardi Auto Racing, Firestone Indy Lights car and 2009 Juncos Racing Pro Mazda driver, claimed his first win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the Freedom 100. Ricardo Juncos, Juncos Racing Team Owner, whose main mission is to build young drivers into the next level of their racing careers, was thrilled with both drivers’ performances. Juncos looks forward to helping more young drivers achieve their goals and sending them to the next level of their career.

“I would like to congratulate Conor Daly, our former Pro Mazda 2010 champion for his Indy 500 debut and thank you to A.J. Foyt for giving him the opportunity,” said Juncos. “I would also like to congratulate Peter Dempsey, our 2009 Pro Mazda 4 time winner and first runner up in the championship, and Belardi Racing for their Freedom 100 victory. I think this proves how successful the Mazda Road to Indy program is for young drivers and how many opportunities young drivers are getting from this program. We as a team feel very proud to be part of Pro Mazda Championship and Firestone Indy Lights series, being able to help drivers move up the ladder in their career. I want to thank everyone involved in the program, Dan Andersen, John Doonan, and Mazda USA for their support."
